What Are Medicare Part B Excess Charges?
Most providers accept Medicare’s approved amount as full payment. When they do, you pay only your deductible and coinsurance.
But if a provider does not accept assignment, they may charge up to 15% more than the approved amount.
That difference is called a Part B excess charge.
